Luis
by Luos AmgelButterflies take flight,
When the train blows its might,
Along the Magdalena’s way,
Our Eden by the bay. (x2)
My magical Macondo,
Where hopes and dreams grow,
It leads me to Aracataca,
My ancestral echo.
My magical Macondo,
With hopes ever so grand,
Brings me to Aracataca,
A land beyond all lands.
From Santa Marta I hail,
Where the marshes unveil,
The banana zone's sweet tune,
Cataca, Fundación soon,
With Buitratrago’s beat in the noon.
With Escalona's lines,
Following Gabo’s signs,
To Macondo I roam,
To dream and call home.
To dream with eyes wide,
To live the hopes inside,
A magical greet,
A town I long to meet. (x2)
Aracataca calls,
The train softly calls. (x2)
To dream with eyes wide,
To live the hopes inside,
A magical greet,
A town I long to meet.
My magical Macondo,
Where hopes and dreams grow,
It leads me to Aracataca,
My ancestral echo.
My magical Macondo,
With hopes ever so grand,
Brings me to Aracataca,
A land beyond all lands.
The good times by Carlos vives
The house of my grandparents, childhood years so fine,
Filled with tales and stories, too much for one bed to confine.
The tale of an English train that enchanted the land,
And a soccer ball arriving, by those years planned.
The tale of an English train that charmed the place around,
And a soccer match closing with a three to two sound.
The train leaves Santa Marta, Ciénaga sleeps so light,
From Riofrio to Aracataca, where my grandpa tends with might.
Fundación's in celebration, the train asks for its way,
The vallenato songs are heard far away.
At last, the modern times, the ladies say with cheer,
Like those in Europe, a place they hold dear.
For my grandpa, progress was the relief in load to bear,
And on that iron mule, he dreamed of times fair.
For him, progress was happiness, even through the tough hours,
He called those the good old days, with all their hidden powers.
The train leaves at dawn and the whole town is awake,
The pitirre sings to the wind, announcing the break.
The fog clears away, emotions arise within,
The train carries away the bad times, the good times begin.
